It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we share the news of Glenn Jaffe's sudden passing at the age of 49. Glenn was not just a lifelong New Yorker — he was a force of nature who brought joy and laughter to everyone he met. Today, we want to celebrate his life and honor the memory of a man who cherished craft beer, punk rock music, the Philadelphia Eagles, Chelsea Football Club, and above all, the art of being a good person and a great man.
Glenn was more than just a friend. He was a beacon of positivity, always ready to lend a hand, crack a joke and make any moment memorable. He had an infectious energy that drew people in, and he used that gift to forge deep and lasting connections with everyone he encountered. Whether you knew him through his love for sports, music, or simply the joy of good company, Glenn made you feel like part of his family.
In this difficult time, our hearts go out to Lindsay, Glenn's beloved partner, who is left grappling with the immense void of this great loss. Glenn's passing has left a hole not only in her heart but also in her life. As she navigates the challenging road ahead, we want to offer our support and love in the same spirit of generosity that Glenn embodied throughout his life.
We have created this GoFundMe campaign to help ease the financial burden that Lindsay now faces. The funds raised will go directly to Lindsay to assist with immediate expenses, as well as provide some stability as she adjusts to life without Glenn. This is our chance to give back and show Lindsay how much her family and friends care.

event features no-judgment storytelling and just-plain-fun comedy
nights. Topics provided, or you choose your own! These are fun-filled
evenings centered around the highs and lows of dating! Participants will
gather around and share their best stories on such topics as love,
heartbreak, and first dates.
Your stories should not only be interesting, but also entertaining. Is there a ham in you deep down?
After
each "performance," the group will vote by saying "I'll drink to that!"
in open outcry. So, on your mark, grab a beer from the bar, and
entertain or be entertained with tales of romance and heartbreak.
Free. Suggested 2-drink minimum
Choose your own topic. Or, go with some of these suggestions.

Ales and Lagers
One of the most asked questions about beer is: What's the difference between a lager and an ale. Even long-time beer enthusiasts can't always answer this one.
But you could--after enjoying this private tasting event with veteran City Swiggers bartender Peter Higgins. Not only does Peter possess a vast knowledge about beer, he's been blessed with a highly developed palate and a great gift for articulate explanation. As a former chef, he's worked with some of NYC’s greatest, including David Bouley and David Chang.
At this intimate gathering, Peter will delight you with a short history of 8 to 10 different representative styles, each followed by a round of pours. While you are imbibing each taste, he will enlighten you on every key characteristic, such as appearance, aroma, and mouthfeel.
The idea is first to compare lagers and ales in terms of the progression of appearance and flavor complexity. Then, to show that even within the two major categories—lager or ale--styles can be very different as well.
By the end of the night, you will have a much deeper understanding of craft beer. You will go away feeling confident next time you find yourself ordering that Czech-style Pilsner, Vienna Lager, Baltic Porter, Pale Ale, IPA, Wit or Stout.
And you will be raving about what an enjoyable evening you just had.
